Dr. Fenton

Robert J. Fenton, DC

Doctor of Chiropractic, Active Release Techniques Provider

Rob Fenton is a familiar face in the area having grown up in Bannockburn, IL and attended Deerfield High School. He left Bannockburn to pursue his B.S. in History from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. After graduating in 2008, he moved on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois.

Dr. Fenton is committed to improving the quality of his patient’s lives by keeping them active and healthy. He is able to treat a variety of conditions utilizing multiple soft-tissue techniques and chiropractic manipulations. He is full body certified in ART® (Active Release Technique®), lumbar and cervico-thoracic certified in McKenzie Method, and trained in acupuncture and rehabilitation exercise.

Unique to Bannockburn Chiropractic are Dr. Fenton’s skills in McKenzie Method and acupuncture. The McKenzie Method is a successful three-step system: assessment, treatment, and prevention. First, the patient will be assessed in order to find possible mechanical syndromes. This will require the patient to do different stretches and postures while the doctor notes the patient’s pain response. Once the condition is identified, Dr. Fenton will be able to provide hands-on treatment and prescribe exercises. What makes McKenzie Method so successful is that most patients can eventually treat themselves in order to prevent future injury and manage symptoms immediately when they occur.

As mentioned before, Dr. Fenton is also qualified to practice acupuncture in the state of Illinois. As an adjunctive therapy, acupuncture can expedite healing time for patients with both chronic and acute injuries. Dr. Fenton will find the source of the patient’s condition or pain and apply needles to the corresponding meridians. This can increase blood flow, release pressure and induce the body’s natural healing response.

In his spare time, Dr. Fenton is an avid basketball and paddle tennis player, enjoys volunteering downtown at the Anti-Cruelty Society and supporting his Chicago sports teams.

Dr. Minx prides herself on understanding the biomechanics and injuries specific to many sports and activities. As a former high school and collegiate athlete and suffering several sports related injuries, she understands the importance of returning to play as quickly as possible. Her goal is to relieve the pain but also identify and treat the cause of the injury. She is certified in multiple soft tissue techniques - Active Release Techniques, RockTape, Fascial Distortion Model and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization - which she feels is key to healing injuries more quickly.

Dr. Minx is a North Shore native. Growing up, she played travel softball for the Illinois Chill and Oak Park Huskies organizations.
