Hands-on soft-tissue care
Active Release Techniques (ART) in Bannockburn
Targeted treatment for muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves that may be contributing to pain, tightness, or restricted movement.
What is Active Release Techniques?
Active Release Techniques, commonly called ART, is a hands-on method used to identify and treat soft-tissue restrictions. Your provider applies precise tension to an affected area while guiding you through a specific movement. The goal is to help the tissue move more freely, reduce irritation, and restore comfortable function.
ART is not a one-size-fits-all treatment. At Bannockburn Chiropractic & Sports Injury Center, it is selected after an examination and may be combined with chiropractic care, movement assessment, rehabilitation exercises, or other services based on your needs.
What ART may address
- Muscle tightness and strains
- Repetitive-use and overuse problems
- Restricted joint or soft-tissue mobility
- Sports and training-related discomfort
- Scar-tissue and fascial restrictions
- Certain nerve-related symptoms
What to expect
Your visit begins with a history and movement-based examination. If ART is appropriate, your provider will locate the involved tissue, apply controlled pressure, and guide the area through a specific range of motion.
You may feel focused pressure or tension during treatment. Your provider will adjust the technique to your comfort and explain how it fits into your overall care plan.
